Natural and Artificial Intelligence: From Causality to Intentionality

Project Director dr. sc. Zdravko Radman

Summary:
This project attempts to address certain faults in contemporary theories concerning the nature of intelligent processes – for example, their exaggerated emphasis on cognitivism – and to affirm other, previously neglected aspects of those processes, such as the operative role of the subject in its environment, intentionality and social conditioning. A critical examination of the said theories in light of the findings of evolutionary biology and cognitive neuroscience will provide the basis for the development of an independent model of intelligence.
