THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE “CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RESEARCH IN CROATIAN PHILOSOPHICAL HERITAGE” TO THE MAKING OF A LATIN-CROATIAN PHILOSOPHICAL DICTIONARY

The journal “Contributions”, from its first issue, publishes treatises written by the researchers in the philosophy of our past. Most of the texts written by our philosophers of old were written in Latin. In their interpretation, the authors in the “Contributions” list the key terms in both the original and in the Croatian translation (which is necessary for a better understanding of the doctrines of particular philosophers ). There are many such contributions, and they can be used in the work on a bilingual Latin-Croatian dictionary of philosophical terms. In the paper , these terms are listed and considered from several aspects. On the basis of statistical frequency of a Croatian term for the Latin equivalent, the author suggests a standardization of Croatian terms for individual authors from the past, that is, for the philosophical periods they had worked in.
